Job Summary
The incumbent will be primarily responsible for monitoring and supervising all Project & Acquisition Finance activities of the Group, including the initiation, sourcing, preparation, processing, execution and distribution of Project & Acquisition Finance transactions for the Group’s Private, Corporate and Institutional (including Government) clientele. This role facilitates growth of the Corporate Banking business and supports financing of complex long-term infrastructure, industrial and public utility projects where the Group collaborates with other banks, financial institutions and investors. The incumbent will serve as the Transaction Lead, ensuring oversight and timely execution of Global Structured Finance transactions, and will undertake special tasks as assigned by the EVP of Global Structured Finance.
Main Responsibilities
Shareholder & Financial : In coordination with the EVP Global Structured Finance, formulate and implement strategies to achieve volume, revenue, and profit targets.Develop KPIs for periodic performance monitoring and quality measurement of the Project & Acquisition Finance Unit.Meet target budgets for customer relationships with Project & Acquisition Finance transactions in line with QNB’s Corporate strategy.Manage all aspects of Project & Acquisition Finance loans, products and services to maximize profitability.Monitor the unit’s approved budget on a regular basis.Implement KPIs and best practices for SVP Project and Acquisition Finance.Promote cost efficiency, productivity, and optimal benefits for the bank.Exercise delegated authority and monitor staff execution within defined limits.Demonstrate understanding of factors behind the bank’s financial and non-financial performance.Customer (Internal & External) : Initiate and strengthen relationships with banks, financial institutions and project sponsors to position QNB for future opportunities.Maintain good teamwork and provide support to colleagues in the Global Structured Finance Department.Build and maintain relationships with related units to achieve Group objectives.Stay informed of local, regional and international markets to identify potential opportunities.Provide timely information to senior management, auditors and compliance when required.Manage day-to-day relationships with key players in the international Project & Acquisition Finance market.Maintain relationships with local, regional, and international banks active in this field to explore opportunities.Work with structuring teams and sales desks to determine optimal structure, price and go-to-market strategy for deals.Collaborate with Risk Managers to evaluate transactions and integrate Capital Markets into processes.Assist customers with product queries and seek solutions.Adhere to SLAs with internal departments to improve turnaround times.Maintain strong relationships with related departments to achieve Group objectives.Provide timely data to external / internal auditors, compliance, financial control and risk when required.Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory) : Ensure transactions are structured, processed, documented and executed to meet client and bank requirements; safeguard the Group’s interests and ensure regulatory compliance; evaluate creditworthiness and feasibility.Ensure policies and procedures guide day-to-day activities; implement a one-point-of-contact approach for customer needs.Cross-sell and coordinate with other QNB units to enhance overall relationships.Submit periodic MIS reports to EVP Global Structured Finance and senior management.Represent the Bank in professional and industry organizations to share knowledge of QNB offerings.Incorporate customer feedback into product development initiatives.Review creditworthiness of other banks / financial institutions in project consortiums; liaise with consortium participants as lead arranger as required.Ensure adherence to credit, country and counterparty limits or obtain approvals for excesses.Ensure adequate securities / guarantees and documentation to safeguard the Group’s interests.Perform comprehensive transaction reviews, assign ratings, and present proposals to decision-makers.Analyze proposals’ financial feasibility based on cash flow and other data.Analyze transactions and provide placement opinions for domestic and international deals.Continuous Improvement : lead cross-functional improvements and promote best practices; encourage innovative thinking.Learning & Knowledge : possess strong knowledge of Project & Acquisition Finance, related risks, and documentation; identify development needs for self and staff; stay current with industry developments; conduct regular performance assessments.Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework : comply with applicable policies and regulatory requirements; support three lines of defense; maintain conduct risk practices; participate in risk frameworks and mandatory training.Other : maintain data protection and confidentiality; uphold high professional standards and protect sensitive information.Education And Experience Requirements
University degree (Bachelor / Master); at least 15 years in banking with a minimum of 5 years in Project & Acquisition Finance, preferably with Gulf and international experience. Masters preferred.Strong knowledge of market structures, industry practices and regulations for corporate and Project & Acquisition Finance.Specialized training in Project & Acquisition Finance.Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).Strong relationship-building, risk awareness, and integrity.Understanding of laws, regulations and practices related to Project & Acquisition Finance.Strong problem solving, planning, organizing and analytical abilities; ability to lead diverse teams.Knowledge of structuring deals, financial modeling, and evaluation of project cash flows.Proficiency in PC applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).High proficiency in legal and security documentation.Note : Attachments required : Resume / CV, Copy of Passport or QID, and Copy of Education Certificate.
