The role of Resident Engineer (Utilities) involves the construction supervision of one of the Expressways projects. The Resident Engineer Utilities provides oversight of the construction supervision of the utilities aspects of the project to ensure that the design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on site and that the requirements of the construction contract are followed.

The Resident Engineer Utilities reports to the Senior Resident Engineer responsible for the Expressways Project and supervises Assistant Resident Engineers, Utilities Engineers, and works inspectors.

Job Responsibilities / Accountabilities :

Perform the duties of the Resident Engineer Utilities on site. Management and direction of a team of Utilities Engineers and Inspectors for the supervision of the construction of the Expressways designs. Identify the resource requirements for the effective supervision of the Utilities aspects of the construction works and manage the supervision team. Act as the prime point of contact for the utilities construction supervision aspects of the project, including progress reporting, safety, financial recommendations, and quality control.

Job Requirements :

Recent previous experience (within the last 5 years) as a Utilities Resident Engineer for major highway projects that are complex in nature, ideally located in the Middle East region. Experience in the construction supervision of both wet and dry utilities. Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience in the design, site supervision, and construction management of major highways projects. BSc in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized and accredited university. Minimum of 5 years post-chartered (or PE registration) experience. Fully understand the aspects of site supervision and construction management of complex highways projects. Enthusiastic about improving the safety performance of site operations in Qatar. Ability to communicate effectively with site teams and motivate them to meet project objectives. Good leadership skills, and ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-discipline team. Excellent communication and report writing skills, and good presentation skills in English. Written and spoken Arabic skills are beneficial but not essential.
