Chartered Resident Engineer - Highway Project

The Expressways Projects are a programme of 28 highway projects within Qatar that have been divided into 9 Groups. Halcrow is tendering for the design (from Preliminary) and construction supervision of a number of the Groups. The projects are typically urban or sub-urban and so are complex in nature and will require interface management with stakeholders and adjacent projects. The Groups are typically QR5Bn construction cost. We are currently searching for a roads and highways Resident Engineer for the construction supervision of one of the Expressways projects. The Resident Engineer Roads provides oversight of the construction supervision of the highways and roads aspects of the project to ensure that the design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on site, and that the requirements of the construction contract are followed. The Resident Engineer Roads reports to the Senior Resident Engineer responsible for the Expressways Project, and supervises Assistant Resident Engineers, Highways Engineers, Pavement Specialist and works inspectors. Language Requirements

English - Fluent / Excellent Arabic - Fluent / Excellent Job Skills

Must be a Chartered Engineer or hold PE qualification. Recent previous experience (within last 5 years) as a Resident Engineer for major highway projects that are complex in nature, ideally located in the Middle East region. Minimum 15 years post graduate experience in the design, site supervision and construction management of major highways projects. Have a BSc in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized and accredited university. Minimum of 5 years post chartered (or PE registration) experience. Fully understand the aspects of site supervision and construction management of complex highways projects. Be enthusiastic about improving the safety performance of site operations in Qatar. Be able to communicate effectively with site teams and motivate them to meet the project objectives. Good leadership skills, and be able to work in a multi-cultural and multi-discipline team. Excellent communication and report writing skills, and good presentation skills in English. Written and spoken Arabic skills are beneficial but not essential. About The Company
