Job Description Parsons is looking for an experienced and talented Assistant Resident Engineer (Utilities) to join our team. In this role, you will assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing and managing utility-related construction activities for large-scale infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in ensuring that utility works are executed in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing

Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing and managing utility construction activities, including water supply, sewerage, drainage, electrical, and telecommunications systems.

Monitor and supervise the contractor’s work to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and project requirements.

Conduct regular site inspections to assess the progress and quality of utility works, identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions as needed.

Review and approve utility-related shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements submitted by contractors.

Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to resolve utility-related conflicts and ensure seamless project execution.

Ensure compliance with local regulations, project specifications, and international standards in all utility works.

Maintain accurate records of site activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and progress updates.

Assist in the preparation of utility-related handover documentation, including as-built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals.

Collaborate with the project management team to ensure that utility works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices on-site.

Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in utility construction supervision, with a proven track record of working on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of utility systems, including water supply, sewerage, drainage, electrical, and telecommunications systems.

Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting utility-related drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.

Familiarity with local utility regulations, standards, and international codes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and engage with stakeholders.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.

Must be MM E certified.
