The Head of Strategy and Transformation will oversee the development, communication, and execution of the bank's corporate strategy. This leader will drive organizational transformation to align with strategic objectives, market trends, and technological advancements. The role requires a visionary and highly-analytical professional with extensive experience in the banking or financial services industry.
Key responsibilities
Strategic planning and development
- Lead the development and periodic review of the bank's long-term strategic plan in collaboration with the CEO and senior leadership.
- Conduct research and analysis of the market, competition, and emerging industry trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop strategic roadmaps for key initiatives, innovation, and business growth.
- Translate strategy into actionable plans, targets, and balanced scorecards for business units.
Organizational transformation and change management
Drive and facilitate organizational transformation by leading change management initiatives across the bank.Introduce new operating models and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Oversee the execution of strategic projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.Lead digitalization efforts and the integration of new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and the customer experience.Leadership and stakeholder management
Engage and build strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, including executives, regulators, and partners.Present strategic insights and recommendations to the executive management and the Board of Directors.Lead and mentor a team of strategy and transformation professionals.Financial performance and reporting
Monitor and review the bank's financial and non-financial performance against strategic objectives.Provide regular reports to the CEO and other executives on the progress of strategic initiatives.Analyze raw data from various sources and synthesize it into actionable strategies and clear performance metrics.Qualifications and experience
A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; a postgraduate degree (e.g., MBA) is preferred.A minimum of 10–15 years of experience in strategic management, planning, or management consulting, with significant time spent in the financial or banking industry.Proven experience in successfully leading large-scale transformation programs, particularly in digital innovation and operational excellence.Strong financial and business acumen.Experience in the MENA region, with a deep understanding of the Qatari market, is highly advantageous.Skills and competencies
