Overview

A titanium welder understands titanium's properties and uses the right welding equipment and processes to produce finished components. They may work in enclosed spaces or operate hand-powered machines and should be adept at titanium welding. Responsibilities

Weld titanium parts using appropriate processes (e.g., GTAW / TIG) and materials to ensure strong, leak-free joints. Inspect welds for visible defects, determine suitable filler materials, and recommend process adjustments as needed. Operate a range of tools and equipment, including plasma cutters, drills, grinders, and related machinery. Coordinate nondestructive testing and oversee the welding contractor’s work to meet project specifications. Apply knowledge of metallurgical properties of materials (e.g., magnesium, carbon steel, titanium, zirconium) to select suitable welding approaches. Stay current with welding technology and practices; adopt new methods and equipment as appropriate. Qualifications

Must meet 6G GTAW (TIG) qualification requirements for titanium piping. Minimum experience : 8–10 years welding in fabrication, preferably in the oil and gas sector. Educational background : High school graduate or one year of technical education in Welding Technology. Experience with GTAW on various materials (e.g., stainless steel, duplex stainless steel, Inconel, and carbon steel) as applicable. Location
