IT Procurement Specialist

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT procurement or a similar role.
• Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in IT procurement.
• Experience in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of procurement practices, contract management, and supply chain processes.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
• Knowledge of IT equipment, software, and services.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and systems.
• Knowledge of contract management and vendor relationship management.
• In‑depth knowledge of IT procurement processes and best practices.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The IT Procurement Specialist is responsible for analysing the current procurement processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing enhanced effective procurement processes to increase efficiency and cost‑effectiveness. This role involves managing and overseeing the procurement of IT equipment, software, and services for QatarEnergy, working closely with ICT teams and internal stakeholders, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that the procured IT resources meet the organization's needs.
