Description Overview Senior Technical HSE Engineer

We are looking to hire a Senior Technical HSE Engineer for a national oil and gas operator in Doha. Must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant post graduate experience of which 6 years should be related to Oil & Gas. Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

Provide technical design and engineering services in Technical HSE Engineering for all assigned engineering projects.

Achieve the technical quality of work in accordance with client procedures while considering quality, schedule, cost and HSE.

Conduct Technical HSE Engineering activities and in-house site surveys for projects from initial concept definition phase through to engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning.

Ensure client technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work scopes and while conducting Technical HSE Engineering activities.

Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.

Support Engineering Department to review, update and apply client standards and client amendments to external standards.

Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidisciplinary engineers to provide timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements.

Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multidisciplinary work scopes for projects and other engineering activities.

Ensure the work scope is comprehensive and clear.

Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organizations for scope compliance.

Liaise with contracted organizations to resolve technical issues.

Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities and contribute to external FEED / EPIC scheduling activities for effective project delivery.

Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.

Review and evaluate contract changes / variations to approved guidelines and practices.

Support the development of personal technical competency and skills and those of coworkers.

Participate in structured training for associate engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

Chartered / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.

10 years of relevant post graduate experience of which 6 years should be related to the Oil & Gas industry.

Ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and codes related to Technical HSE Engineering.

Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment.

Fluency in English language with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency for conducting presentations.
