Overview
As a Principal Business Developer, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and negotiating new business opportunities across the oil and gas value chain. You will support strategic initiatives including mergers & acquisitions (M&A), divestments, and commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with QatarEnergy’s long-term goals and safeguarding the interests of the State of Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on long- and mid-term strategies for upstream and downstream operations (LNG, GTL, etc.).
- Identify and evaluate global business opportunities, partnerships, and ventures.
- Support M&A and divestment activities, including structuring and negotiation of deals.
- Review and assess proposals from international oil companies (IOCs), national oil companies (NOCs), and partners.
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements (EPSA, DPSA, DFA, JVA, HoA, MoU).
- Develop resources and insights across the oil & gas value chain.
- Contribute to budget preparation and business planning.
- Represent QatarEnergy in international forums and committees.
Required Experience And Skills
Minimum 12 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 7 years in business development, M&A, and negotiations.Proven expertise in upstream or downstream operations, market analysis, and financial evaluations.Strong negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.High integrity, independence, and multicultural team spirit.Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Petroleum or Chemical), Economics, or Finance. MBA is a plus.
