Job descriptionMinimum 12 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 7 years in business development, M&A, and negotiations. Proven expertise in upstream or downstream operations, market analysis, and financial evaluations. Strong negotiation, leadership, and communication skills. Overview
As a Principal Business Developer, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and negotiating new business opportunities across the oil and gas value chain. You will support strategic initiatives including mergers & acquisitions (M&A), divestments, and commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with QatarEnergy’s long-term goals and safeguarding the interests of the State of Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on long- and mid-term strategies for upstream and downstream operations (LNG, GTL, etc.).
- Identify and evaluate global business opportunities, partnerships, and ventures.
- Support M&A and divestment activities, including structuring and negotiation of deals.
- Review and assess proposals from international oil companies (IOCs), national oil companies (NOCs), and partners.
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements (EPSA, DPSA, DFA, JVA, HoA, MoU).
- Develop resources and insights across the oil & gas value chain.
- Contribute to budget preparation and business planning.
- Represent QatarEnergy in international forums and committees.
Required Experience And Skills
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Petroleum or Chemical), Economics, or Finance. MBA is a plus.
