Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

The overall purpose of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is to provide essential support and care to patients under the supervision of nurses and physicians. CNAs assist with daily living activities such as bathing, feeding, and mobility as well as performing vital signs checks, aiding in examinations and maintaining patient documentation. They ensure patient comfort and safety while facilitating effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. Certified Nursing Assistants work in a variety of settings including hospitals, clinics, and military facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of nurses and physicians ensuring comfort and safety.
• Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, feeding, dressing, and mobility.
• Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate.
• Assist with patient examinations and procedures as directed by medical staff.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and update medical records as necessary.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of patient care areas and equipment.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new staff or students when applicable.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members to facilitate care.
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain compliance with safety regulations.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial and other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity and alignment with geographical market data.
