About the job ROAD AND TRANSPORT PLANNING EXPERT Road and Transport Planning Expert will provide technical expertise in the planning, design, and implementation of road and transportation projects. This role involves analyzing transport systems, preparing feasibility studies, developing traffic management strategies, and ensuring sustainable and efficient transport solutions aligned with local and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive transport and road network assessments, including traffic surveys, travel demand analysis, and transport modeling.

Develop short-term and long-term road and transport plans in line with urban development goals.

Design and review traffic management schemes, including junctions, intersections, signal timings, and pedestrian / cyclist facilities.

Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and impact assessments for proposed road and transport projects.

Evaluate and recommend transport policies, strategies, and infrastructure improvements.

Coordinate with government agencies, stakeholders, and consultants to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, including reviewing designs and proposals prepared by other engineers or consultants.

Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and technical documentation for decision-makers.

Stay updated on trends and innovations in transport planning, smart mobility, and sustainable transport systems.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Transport Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in road and transport planning projects.

Strong knowledge of traffic engineering, transport modeling software (e.g., VISUM, TransCAD, VISSIM), and GIS applications.

Familiarity with international transport planning standards and guidelines.

Proven experience in preparing feasibility studies, master plans, and traffic management strategies.

Skills and Competencies

Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.

Strong communication and presentation skills to convey technical information clearly.

Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work collaboratively with stakeholders.

Project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring project progress.

Knowledge of sustainable and smart transport systems is an advantage.
