Job Purpose :
The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for overseeing cost management, budgeting, and financial control of projects. This role
involves conducting feasibility studies, preparing tender documents, and managing contracts to ensure efficient and cost-effective
project delivery while adhering to local regulations and industry standards.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Conduct cost estimation and prepare detailed project budgets for construction projects.
- Evaluate and analyze tender documents, including bills of quantities and contract terms.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive cost control.
- Monitor project expenses, track variations, and prepare cost reports for management.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the financial viability of potential projects.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and local regulations in alignment with the Engineering Dept.
- Provide advice on cost-effective measures and value engineering to optimize project costs.
- Assess and evaluate claims and changes in project scope.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as design and engineering teams, to ensure alignment on project objectives and budgets.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project costs and expenditures.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Resolve disputes related to quantities and costs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the company's cost management processes and procedures.
- Keep abreast of changes in construction technology, materials, and methodologies that may impact cost management strategies.
- Perform any relevant additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the immediate superior(s).
Skills
Desired Profile : Education :
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Master’s Degree is a plus.Experience :
05-06+ years of relevant experience,.Additional requirements :
In-depth understanding of quantity surveying principles, construction contracts, and cost management practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Strong negotiation skills to secure favourable terms and resolve contractual issues.
Financial acumen to manage project budgets, analyse financial reports, and contribute to overall project profitability.
Proficiency in English. Arabic is a plus.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and construction standards in Qatar.
