Job Summary
The Purchase Officer in a hospital is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing medical supplies, equipment, and services. The role ensures timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify hospital requirements for medical and non-medical supplies
- Source and evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts, and secure competitive pricing
- Process purchase requests, prepare purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory, and supplier information
- Coordinate with departments to forecast needs and avoid stock shortages
- Ensure all purchased items meet quality and regulatory standards
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve discrepancies in orders or invoices
- Support budgeting, cost control, and audit requirements
Requirements
