Maintenance Assistant - Doha Airport

Overview This role is key to keeping our hotel operating at maximum capacity. This is a varied and interesting position where your skills as an electrician, plumber or painter will be put to good use and you will continue to develop your skills in all kinds of maintenance areas. Working in a small but efficient team you will take on daily tasks inside and outside hotel rooms, guest and public areas and even within the F&B environment. Your quick work will ensure that everything operates as smoothly as it should.

Responsibilities

Attend to all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing repairs and maintenance of the hotel facilities, including the physical building structure, fixtures & fittings, plant and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation, preventative and reactive maintenance good practice.

Complete weekly maintenance schedule and work

Carry out regular maintenance inspections of the building, plant and equipment as per the daily checklist.

Assist with preventative maintenance of fire protection systems ensuring all items are inspected as per scheduled requirements and that firefighting and safety features of the building operate at peak efficiency always.

Assist with repairs and maintenance of the Staff Accommodation as and when needed.

Monitor the inventory in the stores and ensure that there are adequate stocks of materials.

Keep an accurate and up to date record of stocks and equipment.

Ensure and take responsibility for the cleanliness and safety aspects of equipment and tools in all hotel engineering related areas, including plant and electrical distribution rooms and storerooms.

Support the maintenance supervisor with the management of contractors including delivery of materials and equipment and oversight of maintenance repairs as needed.

Build good relationships with contractors.

Requirements

Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Fire protection systems

Health and Safety regulations and good practice.

Working knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance principles.

Excellent English communication skills.

Ability to keep accurate records of maintenance activities and prepare reports.

Basic knowledge of building and services maintenance principles

Swimming pools knowledge ideal

F&B Outlets

Air conditioning and ventilation systems

Strong background in MEP, preferably with experience in hotel or facility management in Qatar or GCC.

If not from MEP, candidates with Electrical or Mechanical background will also be considered.

Better if candidate is locally available in Qatar.

Solid technical knowledge with good problem-solving abilities.

Prior experience in the hospitality sector or large-scale facility management projects.

Familiarity with Qatar’s local standards, codes, and regulations.

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Flexibility and adaptability to handle multiple tasks as required

Experience

2+ years’ experience of General Maintenance experience, preferably within a hotel / resort environment

Formal trade qualifications in Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing.

Computer Literate
