Job Description
The Airworthiness Review Lead is responsiblefor ensuring the continued validity of the aircraft airworthiness certificate.Delivered through leading and managing the airworthiness review schedule toensure the management of a full, documented, review of an aircraft’s records,together with a physical survey, confirms that the aircraft has remained withina controlled environment since either delivery or the previous airworthinessreview. Further ensuring the robust ARC planning at strategic and tacticallevels, maximising the operational efficiency of the QEAF Typhoon fleet.
In addition, the ARCLead is responsible for leading and developing a culture of ContinuousImprovement within CAMSS instigating change. Further acting as the CAMSSContinuing Airworthiness SME when leading and conducting safety investigationsas tasked.
Core Activity
Manage the development, production and issuanceof QEAF Typhoon ARC certificates to satisfy the required schedule conducting afully documented airworthiness review of the aircraft and records at intervals,as required by the QEAFAR.Manage the reconciliation activities (findings)identified during an airworthiness review, ensuring that they are captured,recorded, communicated and acted upon within the required timescales. Ensuringthat escalated issues, identified by the airworthiness review process, areassessed and effective solutions are implemented.At a strategic level, manage themaintenance planning and conducting of airworthiness reviews ensuring thatdetachments, or any other incidents of aircraft unavailability, aredeconflicted. Maximising the operational efficiency of the QEAF Typhoon Fleet.Further capturing fleet trends that identify fleet wide issues that couldmanifest a risk to CAw.At a tactical level manage stakeholder interaction to deconflictthe ARC schedule with other aircraft activities. Ensure the effectivecommunication throughout the stakeholder chain to highlight ARC priorities andsubsequent findings.Lead and develop the effectiveness of CAMSS throughContinuous Improvement. Identifying process and policy insufficiencies thatincrease the risk to CAw, generating suitable reports and plans to communicateand manage the changes identified.Conduct and managesafety investigation with manifest inherent risk to CAw, identifying root causeand contributing factors. Producing unambiguous reports that capture timelinesand potential recommendation to reduce risk as tolerable ALARP.Key Accountabilities
Performance indicators – Ensure theeffective management of the continuing airworthiness review activitiesby ensuring compliance to QEAFARs and the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition(CAME). Setting effective schedules, monitoring findings to identify trends anddeveloping continuous improvement programmes. Prioritises activities within theARC ToRs to ensure efficiency and maximum AVA of the QEAF Typhoon Fleet.Procedure / standards – Ensure thecurrency, accuracy and management of all policies and procedures stipulatingthe requirements of airworthiness reviews. Ensuring that all airworthinessreview activity stringently adheres to, and complies, to all.Safety Management System – Manage theapplication of Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management and SafetyAssurance within the ARC process. Together with the proactive analysis,mitigation and management of hazards, especially if identified during anairworthiness review that manifests an immediate risk to flight safety.Management System Assurance – Ensure all airworthinessreview, continuous improvement and safety investigation activitiesare compliant with the regulatory and assurance framework, including supportingprocess confirmations and independent assurance audits. Manage and support the production,issuance and response to airworthiness review audit findings in a timely andappropriate manner and provide information to support the relevant reviews.Support the implementation of identified improvements to overcome any non-conformancefindings and monitor effectiveness of resolved mitigations.Statutory / Regulatory & Legislative requirements – Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application ofthe relevant continuing airworthiness regulatory framework. Support theimplementation of any regulatory driven changes into the relevant activities.Ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISOContractualRequirements – Lead and manage compliancewith all applicable regulatory requirements, e.g. through Airworthiness ReviewLead activity ensure the effective communication and implementation of anychanges into continuingairworthiness review activities, asappropriate.Requirements
BScin a relevant Technical Management discipline or equivalent.Haveformal aeronautical maintenance training.Haverecent auditing experience in a Continuing Airworthiness controlledenvironment.Substantial experience as an engineering manager within aMaintenance & Support environment, including significant direct experienceof managing and maintaining continuing airworthiness (min 5 years).Extensiveexperience and knowledge of CAw process and practices.Strong quantitative, analytical and project managementskills / experience, with lean management principles.Effective, highly credible communicator with strong interpersonalskillsGood knowledge of standard aircraft maintenance systems andpractices (fast Mil Air).Ability to analyse and interpret data.Comprehensive understanding of aircraft records.Good understanding of project management techniques.E&PW Awareness- Standard Course Specification.ITAR Awareness- Standard Course Specification.#J-18808-Ljbffr
