Job Description

Job Responsibilities Operate various types of cranes (e.g., mobile, overhead, tower) to lift, move, and position heavy loads safely and precisely. Conduct pre-operational inspections of the crane and its components (hooks, wires, brakes) to ensure it is in safe working condition. Plan lifts by understanding load charts, calculating load weights, and assessing the lift site for potential hazards. Coordinate with riggers and signalers using hand signals or radio communication to ensure clear and safe direction during lifts. Control crane movements smoothly using levers, pedals, and remote control systems to avoid swinging or dropping loads. Monitor crane instrumentation and performance during operation, reporting any malfunctions immediately. Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries. Perform minor maintenance tasks and complete logbooks detailing crane usage, inspections, and any issues encountered. Secure the crane properly after completing operations.
