Senior Registered Nurse (MSK Clinic) (SLA - Service Level Agreement) - Bilingual
Role Purpose :
Operate as a member of the OPD team providing support and guidance to patients and staff alike and assisting with procedures in compliance with hospital standards and protocols.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES :
- Utilize the nursing process in the coordination, planning and assessment of patient care.
- Prepare and maintain the OPD clinics on a day to day basis to provide optimum patient care.
- Manage allocated nursing resources to ensure equity of workload and match clinical complexity with nursing competency.
- Co-ordinate allocated workload on a day to day basis to ensure effective and efficient clinical care delivery.
- Deliver patient care and interventions that meet the OPD clinic standards and in accordance with Aspetar policy, procedures and code of conduct that effect nursing practice.
- Deliver care to patients and families that is culturally & religiously appropriate and promotes positive health outcomes.
- Solve problems to meet emergent needs and report issues that may require further intervention.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of strategies to support application of quality standards and quality improvements.
- Promote the application of evidence based data in patient care.
- Participate in the development and review of policies and procedures
- Model effective communication with patients and families.
- Demonstrate effective written communication skills in clinical documentation.
- Maintain a high level of interpersonal and communication skills with members of the interdisciplinary team. Communication is guided by respect, trust and collaboration.
- Utilize technology for verbal / telephone clinical communications. Demonstrate competency in using information technology to support the provision of patient care.
- Work with the Head Nurse to provide guidance and support for OPD nursing staff to enable them to achieve desired outcomes.
- Participate in the coordination of OPD educational activities to meet emerging needs.
- Take a leading role in the clinical education of OPD staff in collaboration with the Head Nurse and Nurse Educator.
- Act as preceptor for new staff. Assume responsibility for allocated portfolios.
- Maintain annual mandatory and core competencies relevant to the position. Undertake self-development opportunities to promote and maintain knowledge and competence.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant QHSSE management procedures and controls across the department so that AZF provides a safe, world class, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people.
- Assume or accept any other responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor within the position role and responsibility.
Necessary knowledge and Experience to be able to do the job :
4-6 years of related experience of which a minimum of 2 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in orthopeadics, acute surgery or related ambulatory care. Fulfil all medical licensing requirements.
Education and Other Requirements :
Graduate of a recognized School of Nursing. Bachelor degree is a must. ILS prepared to undertake ACLS or ALS training if required. IT skills required. Proficient in written and spoken English. Arabic Speaker.
