Job Summary
The Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides specialized nursing care to critically ill patients requiring close monitoring and advanced medical interventions. Responsibilities include assessing and stabilizing patients, administering medications and life-support treatments, operating critical care equipment, and collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team. The nurse ensures the highest standards of patient safety, comfort, and recovery in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Continuously monitor and assess patients’ vital signs, responses to treatment, and overall condition. Administer medications, IV therapies, and life-support treatments as prescribed. Operate and manage advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and monitors. Respond promptly to emergencies and implement appropriate interventions, including resuscitation. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans. Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed patient documentation in medical records. Educate and support patients’ families regarding condition, treatment, and recovery expectations. Uphold strict infection control, safety, and ethical standards at all times. Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives. Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent from an accredited institution. Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable country / state. Minimum of 2 years’ clinical nursing experience, preferably in an ICU / critical care setting. Strong knowledge of critical care protocols, emergency interventions, and advanced patient monitoring. Proficiency in using ICU equipment and electronic medical records (EMR). Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure. Strong communication and teamwork abilities in a multidisciplinary environment. Commitment to continuous professional development and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
