QHSE Manager – Advanced Construction Technology Services (ACTS) This is a full-time, on-site role located in Doha, Qatar. The QHSE Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and for monitoring and improving quality management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and maintain the laboratory’s quality management system in accordance with ISO / IEC 17025 and other relevant standards.
Conduct internal audits, manage external assessments, and ensure corrective / preventive actions are implemented.
Develop and monitor quality performance indicators and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure accurate documentation, calibration, and verification of laboratory equipment and processes.
Develop and implement health and safety policies, risk assessments, and emergency response plans.
Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure safe laboratory practices, including chemical handling, waste management, and use of PPE.
Deliver training programs on laboratory safety, emergency preparedness, and incident reporting.
Investigate accidents / incidents and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Oversee proper disposal and management of hazardous and non-hazardous laboratory waste.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
Promote resource efficiency (energy, water, and chemical use) within the lab.
Lead QHSE awareness initiatives and provide guidance to laboratory staff.
Liaise with regulatory authorities, accreditation bodies, and clients on QHSE matters.
Prepare and present QHSE performance reports to management.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 10 years of experience in QHSE, with at least 3 years in a lead role in a construction material testing laboratory environment.
In‑depth knowledge and holding a certificate of ISO / IEC 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
Certified Lead Auditor in one or more management systems (preferred).
Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols, chemical handling, and risk management.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to train, mentor, and influence staff at all levels.
