Senior offshore structural engineer

Overview

Engineering company based in Qatar looking for Senior offshore structural engineer role 12 months secondment contract 5 days on / 2 days off / 8-10 hours per day Responsibilities

Ensure all facets of structural engineering for greenfield / brownfield modifications of offshore projects are compliant and safe in accordance with International and COMPANY standards and guidelines like Shell DEP, QatarEnergy standards, EN, ISO, API codes. Perform detailed engineering of offshore structures as a specialist graduate engineer. Apply major experience (more than 12 years) in offshore works, specifically for upstream Oil & Gas facilities, jackets & topside fixed platform structures. Independently handle Concept, FEED & Detail Engineering of offshore works based on project scope of work. Prepare comment resolution sheets for Client approval and handle technical queries. Proficient in SACS (mandatory). Experience in SESAM, MOSES and Staad Pro is an added advantage. Experience in jacket brownfield modification related analyses such as re-assessment of global in-place, seismic, boat impact, jacket spectral fatigue (RBI studies) and pushover analysis. Experience in brownfield modification related analyses such as local analysis of topside, loadout and sea transportation analyses for deck extension / modification including rigging design and installation sequence knowledge. Basic knowledge of geotechnical data and pile foundation using PSI. Experience with model review software such as ACAD, E3D, PDS, Navisworks is an added advantage. Experience in carrying out miscellaneous calculations for bolted subsea clamps, doubler plates, node plates, equipment supports, monorail beams, local beams and plate checks as per international standards and codes. Experience in preparation of design calculations using Excel and Mathcad and in preparing analysis reports. Basic knowledge of fabrication and detail drawing checking. Knowledge of installation and removal sequences of existing and new structures and equipment. Experience in offshore site surveys and preparation of site survey reports. Ability to check design calculations and detailed drawings. Capable of guiding and mentoring team members to meet deliverable deadlines while maintaining acceptable quality standards. Prior experience in Client coordination and document approval coordination. Qualifications

Must have strong offshore structural engineering background with >

12 years of experience in upstream Oil & Gas facilities (jackets & topside fixed platforms). Must be able to perform Concept, FEED & Detail Engineering independently. Proficiency in SACS (mandatory); experience in SESAM, MOSES, Staad Pro is advantageous. Experience with jacket brownfield modification analyses and related loadout / installation planning. Familiarity with geotechnical data, pile foundations, and PSI. Experience with design calculation tools (Excel, Mathcad) and preparation of analysis reports. Experience with fabrication / drawing checking and installation / removal sequencing. Experience with site surveys and client coordination.
