The post holder will be an experienced and skilled mechanical technician and supervisor undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on the Typhoon aircraft or aircraft components.
The post holder requires an excellent understanding of the approved technical data set and is competent to supervise personnel carrying out maintenance instructions in accordance with the organisation’s regulatory framework.
Demonstrates a distinct ability to analyze and diagnose faults to aircraft systems, equipment, and assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures, and work effectively within a team. Provides guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamic operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection, and supervision activities on the Typhoon and its components.
- Assuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the work package using the relevant approved technical information.
- Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including configuration management.
- Undertaking and completing tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on the Typhoon aircraft or components which may include aircraft ground handling, flight servicing, aircraft role changes, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements, and / or functional / system tests.
- Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to responsibilities and takes direction appropriately.
- Maintain personal task authorizations for working on aircraft or components.
- Ensuring maintenance is undertaken to schedule and resolving issues, escalating as required.
- Undertaking fault evaluation and raising ad hoc work cards for 'found faults' during maintenance.
- Supervising the team to ensure maintenance is on schedule, highlighting issues, and escalating as necessary. Reporting impacts to the wider program.
- Ensuring staff are sufficiently competent and approved for their assigned maintenance tasks.
- Supporting tasks within the maintenance facility to maintain compliance with the MOE and Functionally Mandated Procedures (FMPs).
- Providing guidance and leadership, developing team members through formal assessments, supporting training requests, and demonstrating strong communication and management skills.
- Ability to scope and carry out independent inspections.
- Maintaining a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, signing other personnel’s logbooks as appropriate, and undertaking authorizations if qualified.
