Job description SPIE Global Service Energy is currently hiring for a Commissioning Supervisor – Mechanical for an onshore project in Basra, Iraq. This is a rotational role : 28 / 28.
Job Purpose
Lead and supervise commissioning and start-up activities related to Commissioning Supervisor – Mechanical systems on the onshore oil & gas project. Ensure commissioning tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements.
Main Responsibilities
Supervise commissioning of mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, rotating / static equipment).
Plan and coordinate mechanical commissioning activities with the team.
Ensure mechanical commissioning procedures and HSE standards are applied.
Lead troubleshooting and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Verify mechanical completion and ensure systems are ready for start-up.
Manage punch list clearance and documentation for handover.
Report status and progress to the Commissioning Manager.
Profile Requirements
Iraqi national from Basra region.
Engineering degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in mechanical commissioning in the oil & gas industry.
Knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines, rotating / static equipment, and piping systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents.
Proven leadership and coordination skills.
Strong commitment to HSE practices.
