Telecom Lead – Saipem

Purpose of the position

Telecom Lead.

Responsibilities

• Perform Project technical tasks assigned by the Instrumentation Discipline Lead, including design, checking, validation, testing and engineering Telecommunication Systems.
• Interface and coordinate with other Project Team Specialists and Designers.
• Coordinate technical activities performed by insourcing or outsourcing.
• Execute activities within own area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with QA / QC and HSE.
• Development Technology know-how and Commercial support (Task A).
• Feasibility (Task B).
• Bidding phase / Commercial proposal development (Task C). Prepare Telecommunication Systems quantities for cost and erection works estimates; support Discipline Lead in defining man hours and cost estimates.
• Project Execution (Task D). Review client technical documentation and requirements; coordinate subcontracted engineering activities and control documents; define engineering design basis and guidelines; prepare technical documentation for Telecommunication material requisitions; prepare technical evaluations; provide technical support to Project Team; optimise design; prepare functional specifications; prepare equipment data sheets; validate vendor BOQs; coordinate detail engineering activities and ensure proper installation drawings; participate in F.A.T. activities and vendor workshops.
• Construction and start up (Task E). Participate in Site Acceptance Test and functional checks; provide technical and engineering support to construction team; perform site engineering activities during construction and commissioning phases.

Requirements

Mid‑Senior level experience required with a strong background in telecommunications engineering, project execution, and commercial support. Candidate should demonstrate competence in QA / QC, HSE compliance, cost estimation, vendor qualification, and cross‑functional coordination.
