Support databases used in sports venues, clubs, and sports event operations ensuring high availability and resilience. Oversee the performance of database services, adjust parameters, and pinpoint any bottlenecks affecting overall database performance. Ensure the databases of all organizations maintain high availability, integrity, backup, recovery, and compliance with security policies. Oversee user roles, permissions, and security at the database level. Implement data protection measures such as encryption, masking, and auditing. Track and address security breaches or vulnerabilities. Monitor growth patterns and forecast future database storage requirements. Automate routine tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, and Python. Perform regular audits to maintain data integrity and security. Plan and execute strategies for high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Keep documentation updated regarding database configurations, processes, and procedures. Conduct a thorough investigation and diagnosis of the incident by analyzing the sequence of events. Assess the overall impact of the incident, including the number and diversity of users affected. Incident Review - Analyze incidents to differentiate between symptoms and underlying causes. Suggest infrastructure modifications as necessary (such as increased memory, enhanced IOPS capacity, or updated drivers). Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge base articles to minimize recurring problems. Change Management : Change impact analysis - Evaluate the effects of suggested modifications on database performance, availability, dependencies, and data integrity. Communication - Notify the appropriate teams, including application developers, infrastructure personnel, DevOps, and business units. Attend Change Advisory Board meetings for approval, if necessary. Change Testing - Conduct comprehensive unit, integration, and performance testing. Record all test outcomes and revise the change ticket as necessary. Change deployment - Implement the modification within a sanctioned maintenance period. Continuously observe logs and system performance in real-time throughout and following the deployment. Rollback procedure - Establish and evaluate a well-defined rollback strategy in the event of a failure and ensure that backups or snapshots are created prior to implementing any changes.
