Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating)

Responsibilities

• Supports the standardization of equipment specifications drawings and document templates.
• Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
• Uses local / global standards to support technical excellence.
• Supports document checking and design verification tasks for compliance with company and project specifications.
• Technical supervision of project‑designated mechanical designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties.
• Prepares specifications data sheets and other information covering rotating equipment and system packages.
• Performs bid evaluation and vendor document review and approval.
• Technical writing activities, notably the production of technical reports and operating manuals.
• Manages studies and mechanical‑rotating‑oriented projects as assigned.
• Prepares technical requisition, stipulation of inspection and testing requirements and documentation.
• Implements innovative solutions, technology advances and methods to effectively manage work out of sequence.
• Supports the Lead Engineer in monitoring quality activities and takes action where required.
• Assists the Project Team in project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules.
• Prepares and participates in weekly mechanical discipline meetings, prepares progress reports and follows required checking procedures.
• Reviews and approves all related technical documents and coordinates with the Lead Engineer.
• Manages the technical execution and completion of engineering assigned tasks in the specific mechanical‑rotating discipline area, providing rotating equipment engineering input to conceptual studies, front‑end engineering and detailed engineering design for petrochemical refineries and oil & gas facilities including the associated utilities.

Quality Assurance

Accountable for working within the provisions and guidelines of Quality Assurance systems.

Safety

Accountable for personal safety and safe working practices. Works with knowledge and follows OH&S procedures, promoting health, safety and environmental awareness.

HSE Capability

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Full‑time Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.

Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage.

Industry Experience

Candidate shall have vast experience in the Oil & Gas sector in the GCC.

Candidate must have experience in detailed design FEED in mechanical engineering.

Candidate shall have mechanical engineering knowledge and familiarity with standards / codes (QP specs).

Past experience as a rotating engineer for upstream & midstream gas turbines will be an advantage.

Must have good experience with compressors and pumps.
