Job Summary
The Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides specialized nursing care to critically ill patients requiring close monitoring and advanced medical interventions. Responsibilities include assessing and stabilizing patients, administering medications and life-support treatments, operating critical care equipment, and collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team. The nurse ensures the highest standards of patient safety, comfort, and recovery in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
- Continuously monitor and assess patients’ vital signs, responses to treatment, and overall condition.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and life-support treatments as prescribed.
- Operate and manage advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and monitors.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and implement appropriate interventions, including resuscitation.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed patient documentation in medical records.
- Educate and support patients’ families regarding condition, treatment, and recovery expectations.
- Uphold strict infection control, safety, and ethical standards at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent from an accredited institution.Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable country / state.Minimum of 2 years’ clinical nursing experience, preferably in an ICU / critical care setting.Strong knowledge of critical care protocols, emergency interventions, and advanced patient monitoring.Proficiency in using ICU equipment and electronic medical records (EMR).Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.Strong communication and teamwork abilities in a multidisciplinary environment.Commitment to continuous professional development and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.#J-18808-Ljbffr
