Role Purpose
The Commercial Manager is responsible for managing the commercial, financial, and contractual aspects of large‑scale telecommunications and ICT projects. The role ensures that all commercial activities are aligned with corporate objectives, profitability targets, and governance standards. This position plays a key role in supporting strategic decision‑making, developing financial models, and producing executive‑level reporting for mega projects and complex enterprise deals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial planning, analysis, and execution for high‑value telecom and ICT projects, including government and enterprise accounts.
- Oversee commercial evaluations, pricing models, and bid strategies to ensure profitability and competitiveness.
- Review and negotiate commercial terms and conditions in collaboration with legal, finance, and procurement teams.
- Develop comprehensive commercial and financial reports for mega projects, highlighting revenue performance, cost structure, margins, and risk exposure.
- Support management with periodic dashboards, forecasts, and performance summaries for strategic initiatives.
- Track contract execution, billing, and project‑level profitability to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
Governance & Coordination
Ensure adherence to internal approval processes, delegation of authority, and financial governance policies.Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely execution of commercial deliverables and customer commitments.Provide commercial insight and recommendations to senior management for decision‑making on bids, renewals, and strategic partnerships.Strategic Support
Participate in business case development and long‑term planning for major telecom and ICT opportunities.Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial policies, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field (CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA preferred).8–12 years of experience in the telecommunications and ICT sectors, with proven exposure to large‑scale projects and strategic deals.Strong background in commercial management, pricing, financial modelling, and contract governance.Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial reporting tools, and data analysis.Experience working with multi‑functional teams including sales, project management, finance, and legal.Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.Core Competencies
