Freight Operations Supervisor

Job descriptionMinimum 7 years of experience in road freight, transport logistics, or fleet supervision Strong understanding of route planning, cargo documentation, and transport regulations Familiarity with GPS tracking systems, TMS platforms, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel) Excellent communication and coordination skills across teams and stakeholders Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and safety Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field Certifications in transport safety, fleet management, or logistics preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily road freight operations, ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Coordinate fleet schedules, driver assignments, and route planning to optimize delivery performance.
- Monitor transport documentation, cargo handling, and compliance with local and international regulations.
- Supervise loading / unloading activities and ensure adherence to safety protocols and company standards.
- Liaise with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve delivery issues and maintain service quality.
- Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, fuel efficiency, and incident reports; recommend improvements.
- Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of vehicles and transport equipment.
- Support onboarding and training of drivers and logistics staff.
- Collaborate with warehouse, customs, and dispatch teams to streamline operations.
- Prepare daily / weekly reports on fleet performance, delivery status, and operational challenges.
