Safety Officer

Job Description

Responsibilities :

Monitor and ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and legal requirements on site.

Conduct daily site safety inspections , identifying unsafe acts or conditions and recommending corrective actions.

Participate in risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSA), and toolbox talks before work begins.

Verify compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, confined space, and hot work safety requirements.

Ensure all workers use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and follow safe work practices.

Conduct and document incident, accident, and near-miss investigations , ensuring proper reporting and follow-up.

Maintain safety statistics, inspection reports, and compliance records .

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience :

Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Safety, or related field.

Minimum 5–7 years of experience as a Safety Officer in oil and gas projects.

Certified in NEBOSH IGC / IOSH / OSHA or equivalent safety qualification.
