Overview University of Doha for Science and Technology UDST is the first national applied University in the State of Qatar offering applied Bachelors and Masters degrees in addition to certificates and diplomas in various fields UDST has over 50 programs in the fields of Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades Business Management Computing and Information Technology Health Sciences Continuing and Professional Education and more With more than 600 staff and over 7 500 students UDST is the destination for topnotch applied and experiential learning The University is recognized for its studentcentered learning and stateoftheart facilities Our faculty are committed to delivering pedagogicallysound learning experiences with incorporation of innovative technological interventions to further enhance students skills and help develop talented graduates that can effectively contribute to a knowledgebased economy and make Qatars National Vision 2030 a reality The University of Doha for Science and Technology UDST is seeking a passionate and experienced Academic Advising Specialist to join our vibrant Student Central Services Department in the Academic Advising Unit Responsibilities Reporting to the Head Academic Advising the successful candidate will provide academic advising services in collaboration with faculty advisors in a developmental dual academic advising model based on a dynamic student advisor relationship In this role the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting student success by providing comprehensive academic advising services You will build strong relationships with students helping them navigate their academic journey develop personalized learning plans and achieve their full potential In collaboration with Academic Learning Services develop and implement individualized student success plans focusing on maximizing potential and supporting atrisk students Regularly meet with advisees to track progress address concerns and revise plans as needed Stay updated on UDST programs and policies providing accurate information and guidance to students Assist students with course selection sequencing and registration Connect students with relevant campus resources for academic personal and social support Assist with the facilitation of workshops and training for faculty academic advisors Collaborate with faculty staff and departments to enhance student support services Utilize EAB Navigate360 to maintain accurate records Utilize EAB Navigate360 to maintain appointment availability and manage student advising appointments Assist with organizing and running campuswide academic advising events Assist with the hiring and mentoring of peer academic advisors PAAs Ensure adherence to academic advising policies and procedures Qualifications Education and Certifications Bachelors degree in relevant field is required Masters degree and or professional certification is preferred Experience Minimum 5 years of relevant experience is required preferably in the higher education sector Language Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic language is required Other Required Skills Attention to Detail Reliability and Dependability Relationship Building Teamwork and Collaborative Working Service Excellence with Technical Competencies in Student Success Student Life Cycle Service Design and Implementation and Process Design and Efficiency are required
