We are seeking an experienced Windows System Administrator to ensure the stability, security, and performance of our IT infrastructure. The role involves managing Windows servers, Active Directory, virtualization, and storage environments, while supporting users and maintaining business continuity through robust backup and disaster recovery processes.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and user accounts .
- Manage system access rights, credentials, permissions, and storage allocations .
- Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of hardware, operating systems, and software applications .
- Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, and capacity , ensuring proactive issue resolution.
- Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and failover procedures to safeguard business data.
- Manage and support virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper-V) and associated infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell) to streamline administration tasks.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, patch management, and system hardening best practices .
- Support cloud and hybrid environments (Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365) where applicable.
- Coordinate hardware upgrades and replacements and liaise with vendors and IT support teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation, procedures, and technical specifications for system administration.
- Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to IT staff and end users on new technologies and best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).Professional certifications preferred, such as : Microsoft Certified : Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), CompTIA Server+ / Security+.Minimum 10 years of proven experience as a Windows System Administrator or in a similar role.Hands-on experience managing enterprise-level server and virtualization environments .Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain secure, resilient IT infrastructure .Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2012 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022) administration.Proficiency in Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and File / Print Services .Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).Knowledge of backup solutions and hands-on experience with Symantec Netbackup and Veeam Backup solutions.Familiarity with storage systems (SAN / NAS / iSCSI).Strong skills in PowerShell scripting and automation .Understanding of system monitoring, performance tuning, and patch management .Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP / IP, VPN, LAN / WAN).Familiarity with security practices , including system hardening, endpoint protection, and auditing.Exposure to cloud services (Azure, Microsoft 365) is a plus.Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.Excellent documentation and reporting abilities.Effective communication skills to collaborate across IT and business teams.Ability to train and support staff on system usage and new technologies.Seniority level
