Responsibilities :

Provide end-to-end oversight of FHIR implementation across platforms and stakeholders.

Define, validate, and maintain profiles, resources, and extensions aligned with HL7 FHIR standards.

Establish governance processes for FHIR versioning, data quality, and interoperability compliance.

Serve as the subject matter expert on FHIR APIs, terminology services (e.g., SNOMED CT, LOINC), and data mappings.

Review and approve FHIR implementation guides (IGs), conformance testing, and integration specifications.

Coordinate with national and international bodies to ensure alignment with evolving standards.

Conduct technical assessments of vendor solutions for FHIR compliance.

Develop and oversee testing and validation frameworks, including tooling (e.g., Inferno, Touchstone).

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field.

Minimum 7 years in health IT, with at least 3 years hands-on experience in FHIR-based integrations.

Deep understanding of HL7 FHIR R4+, RESTful APIs, OAuth2, and SMART on FHIR.

Experience with health data models (OMOP, CDA, V2) and terminology standards.

Familiarity with national HIE, EMR / EHR, and health data warehousing environments.

Preferred Certifications :

Relevant cloud or integration architecture certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Mulesoft)

Soft Skills :

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Ability to translate technical decisions into policy recommendations.
