Land Freight Operations Leader – Doha, Qatar

As part of DHL Global Forwarding, Freight (DGFF), you will manage land freight operations in a leading air, ocean and road freight specialist, delivering standard and highly specialised end‑to‑end solutions for a wide range of customers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Ensure policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.
• Set day‑to‑day operational objectives and guide the team to meet work schedules and targets.
• Coordinate import / export plans, processes and documentation for clearances through relevant authorities.
• Plan, book and optimise freight transport according to internal guidelines and product team definitions.
• Dua‑to‑day import / export operations, including delivery arrangement, shipment follow‑up and confirmation of transport orders.
• Draft, monitor and distribute required import documents in compliance with regulations and internal procedures.
• Validate documents, verify shipment status, identify incidents and provide resolution support to customer service.
• Execute IT‑system tasks for real‑time shipment tracking and status updates.
• Observe supplier performance, propose solutions and maintain relationships with suppliers and key internal functions such as capacity management, sales and OCC.
• Highlight issues and opportunities, adopt better practices and uphold quality standards to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
• Manage problem handling, ensuring challenges are addressed even if they are not complex.
