IT Support Engineer

Charterhouse is working with a leading company based in Qatar. Our client is looking to hire an IT Support Engineer to join their organisation on a permanent basis.

Your primary job role will be to provide onsite support to end users and ensure incident resolution as per the SLA. You will maintain PCs and printers in all sites by performing regular preventive maintenance as well as train all users on the use of PCs and software. You will log all incident requests in the Help Desk online system, manage helpdesk tickets and answer all help desk calls. In addition you will be responsible for carrying out IT cabling including Ethernet and telephone cables. Your responsibilities will include installing, maintaining and repairing audio, video and electronic equipment such as closed circuit television systems, television sets and electronic control systems.

The successful candidate should have exposure working with Windows Server, SQL Server and Visual Basic together with .NET technologies and MS office 2007. The ability to install and configure computer systems and diagnose hardware / software faults is also required. You should be proficient in monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks in the organisation including timely updates of security patches / service packs. Knowledge of ERP systems and VB.net programming with SQL queries would be an advantage. It is essential you have excellent written and spoken English skills, Arabic would be beneficial.
