Job Description – System and Network Administrator

System and Network Administrator (SysAdmin) is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and networks. The role ensures that the IT infrastructure runs efficiently, securely, and without interruption, supporting both internal users and business operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage IT infrastructure for GOIC Datacenter .
• Design, configure, and maintain LAN / WAN infrastructure, firewalls, switches, and routers.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity, bandwidth, and latency issues.
• Installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security updates .
• Implement network security protocols , VPNs, VLANs, and intrusion detection / prevention systems.
• Maintain IP address management and DNS / DHCP configurations.

Installation, Software Updates and Management of all Servers including Email Servers, Application Servers, Active Directory , Backup Servers

Installation, Updates and Management of Virtualization platform using VMware .

Monitor system performance, patch levels, and storage capacity

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and networking.

Maintain logical security access (User Credentials and Access, Network Folders, Door Access, Biometric Access etc.)

Participate in internal and external IT audits; maintain documentation for compliance. Coordinate and Represent GOIC for External IT audits from Microsoft, ICT Qatar etc.

Monitor system logs and responds to security incidents.

Requirement & Technical Evaluations for new IT procurement, Licenses and Renewals.

Responsible for implementation of any new projects or upgrades for the GOIC Datacenter in co-ordination with vendor (if any)
