ECCO Gulf Majorel Qatar is seeking a highly skilled Reconciliation and Control Senior Manager to join our team in Qatar. This executive role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data through meticulous reconciliation processes. The successful candidate will lead a team dedicated to maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the reconciliation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist AVP Reconciliation & Control in the creation of Key Risk Indicators (KRI) for control and monitoring purposes of the activities performed by the Reconciliation & Control Department personnel and monitor their achievements on a periodic basis.
- Assist Manager Reconciliation & Control in the creation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for performance monitoring and control measurement purposes pertaining to the activities performed by the Reconciliation & Control Department personnel and monitor their achievements on a periodic basis.
- Coordinate with various local and international departments / units within the Bank Group covered by the Reconciliation & Control functions and report on areas where improvement is required from an operational / control perspective.
- Liaise with AVP Reconciliation & Control regarding long outstanding reconciliation items and any suspicious movement.
- Supervise subordinates to ensure daily reconciliation for assigned accounts, enabling timely identification and resolution of outstanding items and preventing losses.
- Act within the powers delegated and delegate authority to staff as appropriate, while monitoring execution.
- Demonstrate understanding of the factors behind the bank's financial and non-financial performance.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, promoting a culture of compliance and accountability.
- Ensure the existence of adequate policies and procedures defining the scope of control activities and reporting requirements.
- Supervise timely central reconciliations to identify and correct errors, omissions, duplications, and unexplained items, determine root causes, and prevent recurrence.
- Verify and confirm the performance and functional aspects of Nostro Reconciliation and Proof Reports.
- Prepare and check required reports as per the agreed KPI and KRI and share / discuss with the concerned area in the Bank Group.
- Suggest modifications or identify suitable alternate solutions in coordination with Senior Manager Reconciliation & Control.
- Check and verify financial vouchers for reconciliation as per the laid procedures.
- Support International Branches and Subsidiaries.
- Set examples by leading improvement initiatives through cross-functional teams and ensure successes.
- Identify and encourage people to adopt practices better than the industry standard.
- Encourage thinking outside the box within the team and recognize innovative ideas in day-to-day issues.
- Possess understanding of Banking Operations, Accounting, control and reconciliation tools, techniques and methods.
- Hold meetings with staff and assess performance regularly; monitor the team’s overall performance.
- Take decisive action to resolve grievances or conflicts within the team promptly.
- Identify development opportunities and activities for staff and coach them to improve effectiveness and prepare them for greater responsibilities.
- Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard sensitive information.
Required Profile
We are looking for an experienced leader with a strong background in finance and a proven track record in managing reconciliation and control functions. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills :
Bachelor in Account / Finance / Business Administration or any related field.8 years in banking with a minimum of 3 years in operational controls or finance experience.Proven leadership experience in a finance-related role, preferably in reconciliation and control.Good oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic (Mandatory).Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.Proficiency in reconciliation and control tools, techniques and related procedures, including best practices relating to the same.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.Well-versed with the central reconciliations function.Knowledge of banking processes / operations and procedures, transactions and banking systems.Knowledge of pertinent regulations pertaining to operations control.Working relationship with all departments / branches / units for following up on reconciliation items across the Group.Informing the Operational Risk function of long outstanding reconciliation items.In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.Proficiency in financial software and tools, with a strong aptitude for technology.Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
