Primary Responsibilities
Rigging and Lifting Operations
Execute all lifting and rigging activities in accordance with approved procedures, safety standards, and engineering drawings.
Select, inspect, and maintain appropriate rigging gear (slings, shackles, hooks, spreaders, hoists, etc.) and discard any defective equipment immediately.
Determine the weight and center of gravity of loads to ensure proper stability and attachment points.
Direct crane operators and signal personnel during critical lifts using standard hand and radio signals .
Install and dismantle lifting devices, temporary structures, and guy wires as required.
Calculate and ensure the safe working load (SWL) of equipment is not exceeded.
Technical and Maintenance Duties
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on various mechanical, electrical, or structural equipment as directed (e.g., pumps, compressors, valves, conveyors, motors, or basic structural repairs).
Assist specialized technicians (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation) in troubleshooting and repair of complex systems.
Conduct daily inspections and routine checks of tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure operational readiness and safety compliance.
Carry out basic fabrication, fitting, and assembly work using hand and power tools.
Document all work performed, including inspection reports, maintenance logs, and equipment status updates.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Certification : Valid Rigger Certification (e.g., API, LEEA, or equivalent recognized industrial standard).
Experience : Proven minimum of [e.g., 3-5] years of experience in industrial or construction rigging and technical / maintenance work, preferably in the Oil & Gas, Marine, Construction sector.
Technical Knowledge : Strong working knowledge of rigging principles, load charts, knots, wire ropes, chains, and lifting accessories.
Mechanical Aptitude : Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical systems to assist with maintenance and repair tasks.
Safety Acumen : Thorough understanding of Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) procedures, Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, and general industrial safety regulations.
Physical Stamina : Ability to perform physically demanding work, often involving heavy lifting, working at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
