Job Description :
The Rigger is responsible for safely setting up, inspecting, and operating rigging equipment to move heavy loads and materials at the project site. The role requires ensuring compliance with lifting safety standards and coordination with crane operators, rigging supervisors, and site engineers to execute lifting operations efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare and inspect rigging gear, slings, shackles, chains, and spreader bars before use.
Assist in assembling and dismantling rigging setups for cranes, hoists, and lifting devices.
Signal and direct crane operators during lifting and placement of heavy materials or equipment.
Ensure all rigging and lifting activities comply with oil & gas site safety regulations and DOPET safety standards.
Identify load weights and determine the safest lifting methods and equipment required.
Report damaged or defective rigging equipment immediately.
Follow instructions from the Rigging Supervisor and maintain clear communication with the lifting team.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Qualifications & Experience :
Education : High school / Technical Certificate
Experience : Minimum 35 years in rigging operations within oil & gas projects.
Certification : Valid TUV / Third-Party Rigger Certification (mandatory).
Skills :
Strong knowledge of lifting plans, load charts, and rigging tools.
Ability to interpret hand signals and coordinate with lifting teams.
Understanding of site safety procedures and risk assessments.
