The ideal candidate will lead the execution and continuous development of business development strategies that drive investment, promote zone growth, and enhance sector competitiveness. The Business Development Director supports the formulation and implementation of attraction programs, manages investor relationships, and ensures delivery of business plans and initiatives that align with the organization’s investment, revenue, and growth objectives.
Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
Contribute to the development and implementation of business development strategies aligned with the organization’s overall investment and cluster growth plans.
Translate high-level investment and FDI strategies into actionable execution frameworks, ensuring alignment with departmental targets and budgets.
Oversee the design and delivery of investor outreach programs to attract new investors and support the expansion of existing ones.
Provide inputs to long‑term plans related to commercial strategy, cluster positioning, and asset utilization.
Manage the execution of annual business development and investment initiatives to achieve revenue, FDI, and occupancy objectives.
Investment Development & Relationship Management
Lead investor engagement activities from initial outreach through negotiation and deal closure.
Manage relationships with strategic investors, partners, and key accounts, ensuring continuous communication and satisfaction.
Support the preparation and evaluation of investment proposals, lease terms, and partnership agreements in coordination with Legal, Zones Development, and Operations.
Ensure timely resolution of investor queries and issues, maintaining service quality and compliance with the organization’s policies.
Oversee the development of investor presentations, pitch decks, and marketing materials tailored to target sectors.
Business Development Execution
Supervise the planning and delivery of sales and business development activities across assigned clusters.
Lead the coordination of site visits, client meetings, and investor delegations, ensuring professional representation of the organization.
Manage coordination with internal teams for land allocation, deal negotiation, and transaction finalization.
Ensure efficient collaboration with Public Affairs and Corporate Communications for marketing, PR, and event support.
Lead the execution of cluster-specific promotional events, exhibitions, and investor roadshows.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
Oversee the analysis of international market trends, competitor activities, and investment flows to identify new opportunities and inform strategy.
Develop periodic business performance reports, tracking KPIs related to revenue, FDI, and investor satisfaction.
Provide market and performance insights to senior management to guide decision‑making and policy updates.
Monitor cluster performance and propose initiatives to enhance competitiveness and utilization.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise the business development team, ensuring clear objectives, mentorship, and continuous capability building.
Foster cross‑departmental collaboration with Zones Development, Finance, and Communications to ensure seamless deal execution.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence in customer engagement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in business development, investment promotion, or corporate partnerships, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role within an investment banking experience.
Professional certifications in business development, investment management, or project leadership (e.g., CBI, PMP) are preferred. Proven record of leading deal execution, investor management, and cross‑sector business growth initiatives.
