Process Safety Engineer

Overview

Process Safety Engineer role at Bureau Veritas North America. Responsible for ensuring the safe design, operation, and maintenance of industrial processes and facilities. This includes identifying and mitigating process safety risks, developing safety systems and procedures, and providing technical expertise to support compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) to identify potential hazards and risks associated with industrial processes
• Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) programs, including process safety information, operating procedures, mechanical integrity, and management of change
• Perform quantitative risk assessments and consequence modeling to evaluate the likelihood and severity of potential incidents
• Review process design, equipment specifications, and operating procedures to ensure process safety requirements are met
• Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel on process safety best practices
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Stay up to date with relevant process safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and EHS, to ensure a holistic approach to process safety
