Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivery of safety, compliance and quality assurance oversight.
 - Provide advice and support on all safety, compliance and quality assurance issues.
 - Ensure that standards and statutory legislation are applied.
 - Act as a positive role model for the corporate ethos of continuous improvement.
 - Measure performance and results against Key Performance Indicators, ensuring consistent high standards of safety and compliance.
 - Provide safety & quality support to the Quality, Safety & Airworthiness Manager and appointed responsible individuals.
 - Develop robust auditing systems and processes for ensuring compliance with standards and policies at local management levels.
 - Ensure personal and team compliance with Health and Safety, Security and Environment / Sustainable Development Policies, minimizing risk to self, colleagues, customers, staff and environment.
 - Coordinate safety training across the organization and ensure quality assurance of maintenance schemes to meet company and local standards.
 - Comply with all legal and statutory obligations applicable to this role.
 - Investigate incidents and accidents, taking remedial action where standards have not been met or improvements can be made.
 - Lead, motivate and inspire a safety culture across the organization, setting strategies and goals for continuous improvement.
 - Support the team to act with increased confidence and empowerment.
 - Provide professional advice on safety, compliance, quality assurance and environmental management to internal and external customers.
 - Conduct risk and hazard reviews.
 - Ensure compliance with the Air Navigation Order and regulatory requirements set by the CAA / EASA and local organization.
 - Report all accidents and incidents in accordance with local policy.
 - Conduct safety tours / inspections on agreed schedules.
 - Maintain procedures and processes in line with local legislation, regulatory and corporate policies.
 - Ensure that all internal and external audit findings are addressed within agreed timescales.
 - Monitor and manage 3rd party contractors and their activities.
 
Requirements
Qualification Requirements
Post Graduate or Bachelor's degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Engineering or other relevant discipline.Experience Requirements
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.Extensive operational experience in a safety-specific role within an aviation environment.Experience motivating and leading teams in a safety environment.Experience designing and implementing Safety Management and Quality Assurance programmes.Experience dealing with aviation safety regulators.Experience developing just cultures.Experience designing and implementing SMS’s.Sound understanding of the Air Navigation Order.Certification / Knowledge / Competencies
Safety Management Experience.Degree level education (or equivalent).Qualified Auditor.Relevant Safety Management System, HSE qualification.Solving & decision‑making skills.Knowledge of modern aircraft equipment.Knowledge of aircraft maintenance and repair policy and procedure.Knowledge of Safety Management Systems, Human Factors, etc.Excellent communication skills.Fluent in English.Computer literate.Knowledgeable of data analysis and forecasting models.Driving licence.Seniority Level
