Job Summary
The incumbent is primarily responsible for implementing, documenting, delivering and supporting In-House and Distributed Applications by coding, documenting, unit testing, and maintaining software programs and applications as specified by Business Analysts using standard development tools.
Main Responsibilities
- Shareholder & Financial : Carefully analyze possible software and application program changes to ensure congruence with the Group’s long‑term planning and approved strategy.
- Design, implement, document and develop applications as per the specified budget and plan.
- Implement KPI’s and best practices for In-House and Distributed Applications System Analysis.
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency, and enhance productivity to minimize cost, avoid waste, and optimize benefits for the bank.
- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
- Liaise with concerned business units for their information requirements and follow‑up to answer their business needs.
- Assist customers in all their queries on the bank’s products and seek solutions to their requests.
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments / units to achieve improvements in turn‑around time.
- Build and maintain strong / effective relationships with related departments / units to achieve the Group’s objectives.
- Provide timely and accurate data to external / internal auditors, compliance, financial control and risk teams when required.
- Develop new applications as per user requirements and the plan specified by the designated systems analysts.
- Correct bugs and errors by making appropriate changes, retesting the program to ensure desired results are produced.
- Conduct trial runs and perform testing of programs and software applications to ensure accurate information and correct instructions.
- Compile and document the program and perform subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instructions for clarity.
- Perform revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
- Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs using workflow charts and diagrams, applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic.
- Write or contribute to instructions or manuals to guide end users.
- Investigate whether networks, workstations, the central processing unit of the system, and / or peripheral equipment respond to program instructions.
- Prepare detailed workflow charts and diagrams describing input, output, and logical operation, converting them into coded instructions.
- Perform systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use of system software.
- Consult with and assist computer operators or system analysts to define and resolve problems in running computer programs.
- Comply with existing standards and policies as set by the Group’s management.
- Use object-oriented programming languages, client / server application development processes, multimedia, and Internet technology.
- Abide by the policies and procedures developed for maintaining Information Security for the Data Centre Operations and take on active responsibilities in achieving, managing and maintaining ISO 27001 standard.
- Fully understand user requirements as provided by business analysts.
- Possess knowledge of system design and data dictionary concepts to develop a workable and comprehensive application.
- Possess and implement the development life cycle followed within the Group.
- Identify and pursue professional development opportunities.
- Proactively seek opportunities to remain current with professional field developments.
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements (AML & CTF, sanctions, data protection, fraud control, whistle‑blowing, conflict of interest, insider dealing).
- Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify, monitor, manage and report risks.
- Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with conduct‑risk policy.
- Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with operational risk management requirements.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification for the role.
- Complete all mandatory training provided by the bank, attain, and maintain required competence levels.
- Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the bank.
- Ensure high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business, providing such information only on a need‑to‑know basis to senior management, audit, compliance functions and relevant regulators.
- Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB’s reputation and strengthen its market leadership position.
- Perform other ad hoc duties / activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time.
