Accountabilities
The Cost & Reporting Analyst is responsible for delivering cost transparency and driving value through advanced analytics and reporting. The role requires strong expertise in SAP and Power BI to transform financial data into actionable insights and promote a culture of cost optimization. This position plays a key part in ensuring sound cost control practices in line with IFRS and internal financial policies.
Key Activities
Develop and maintain standardized management reports and Power BI dashboards that provide a consolidated view of financial performance.
Prepare and validate all SAP entries and supporting documentation for monthly closure, including invoices, accruals, and allocations.
Collect and verify company-wide financial data (e.g., cost drivers, value of work done) to ensure reporting accuracy.
Prepare and present monthly cost reports with detailed variance analysis versus budget and forecast, supported by Power BI visualizations.
Establish and promote consistent methodologies for cost control and reporting across the organization.
Maintain and improve SAP reporting structures and master data to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Design and deploy Power BI dashboards integrating SAP data for real-time visibility of spending and budget performance.
Ensure consistent application of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process and Delegation of Authority (DOA) through automated tracking and reports.
Support audit processes by providing accurate, system-based financial data and reports generated via SAP and Power BI.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Technical Requirements
Minimum 8 years of experience in cost control, reporting, or finance, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
Strong hands-on experience with SAP (preferably BW / 4HANA) and deep understanding of cost-related data structures.
Expert proficiency in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report development, dashboard design).
Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and automation techniques.
Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS) and core financial processes such as cost allocation and accruals.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convert complex financial and technical data into actionable insights.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong problem-solving, organization, and collaboration skills.
High initiative and ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.
