Description
Apt Resources is seeking a Portfolio Performance Analyst Power Sector to lead the design implementation and management of performance monitoring systems and business intelligence tools across a diverse asset portfolio. This role is instrumental in advancing data-driven decision‑making by deploying Asset Performance Management (APM) solutions and overseeing the strategic integration of Data Science and Machine Learning (DSML) initiatives across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, deep technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across departments to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and profitability within the power sector.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop data mining techniques for all stages of predictive analytics encompassing ETL (extract transform load) data cleansing and both supervised and unsupervised APM and other DSML modeling and training. Implement AI and neural network algorithms to gather and organize data from various on‑premises and cloud‑based data sources.
- Evaluate the performance data assets and portfolio generating and distributing both standardized and custom reports to management. Compare asset and portfolio performance against industry benchmarks and offer recommendations for ongoing improvements and enhancements in business practices and models.
- Oversee the scalability, efficiency, and progress of the APM and DSML programs ensuring alignment with business plans, timelines, established standards, and resource allocation while adhering to industry best practices.
- Assist in the design, development and management of the digitization vision strategy implementation and governance.
- Utilize performance monitoring and management platforms to ensure effective risk management and business control in line with industry best practices, contractual obligations, and the objectives of stakeholders.
- Conduct detailed financial analyses for the assets including budget management, cost control, and profitability assessments. Calculate and monitor financial metrics such as the Internal Rate of Return for each asset class.
Requirements
Masters degree or PhD from a recognized university in engineering fields related to power‑ and water‑generation sector and educational or practical application of computer science, machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics.Minimum of 10 years of experience in large process plant and industrial settings with experience in industrial financial and non‑financial KPIs and BPIs, and SAP / Oracle / Maximo / MS Dynamics or equivalent ERP environments.Experience in quantitative analysis (stochastic calculus, PDEs, Monte Carlo methods and numerical methods) and analytical and statistical methods preferred.Knowledge and experience in programming languages : R, Python, SQL and time‑series data acquisition systems like SQL, Kafka Streams, etc.Expert level knowledge and experience in MS 365, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps.IT project management experience implementing data‑warehousing products (Oracle, SAP, Maximo, etc.) and business intelligence tools such as Qlik, Tableau, etc.Strong background in collaboration and innovation, technical and business understanding of data ETL, data cleaning (validation, verification, false positives).Adaptability to a multinational environment with wide exposure to various cultures and customs. Ability to work with teams from diverse cultural backgrounds in multiple locations.Benefits
