Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. The Payroll Specialist will oversee the payroll process ensuring timely and accurate delivery of employee payments. This role is critical to maintaining employee satisfaction and compliance with all relevant payroll laws and regulations. You will work closely with the human resources and finance departments to resolve payroll issues and implement new processes to enhance efficiency. Responsibilities
Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time every pay period.
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Collaborate with human resources for new hires, terminations, and status changes.
Calculate employee federal and state income and social security taxes.
Respond to and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees promptly and professionally.
Prepare reports for payroll liabilities such as insurance, taxes, and other withholdings.
Assist in reconciliation of payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets and other payroll-related documents.
Implement and maintain internal payroll procedures to streamline processes efficiently.
Coordinate with company departments to ensure proper reconciliations of payroll data.
Stay updated with payroll legislation changes and implement changes as necessary.
Support management with audits, financial analysis, and other special projects as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
At least three years of experience in payroll processing and administration.
Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and tax laws.
Exceptional attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in work.
Proficiency in payroll software systems and MS Office applications such as Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
