Senior FX Dealer

The Senior Dealer – FX will assist the Section Head in efficient operations of the FX section, in line with the internal policies and regulatory guidelines. The incumbent will provide FX solutions to customers within the approved limits and will ensure prompt execution of foreign exchange transactions and placement deals. The job holder will maintain the Nostro accounts in various FX currencies to meet FX liquidity needs and will provide necessary support the Dealers in efficient execution of their day-to-day tasks.

Detailed Roles and Responsibilities

Perform all activities, as assigned by the Section Head - FX, in compliance with applicable regulations, and internal policies and procedures.

Provide timely and competitive foreign exchange pricing for the Treasury Sales department and other internal stakeholders, as applicable after checking the availability of credit lines for the counterparty, as per the authority delegated.

Review and manage gap positions and ensure FX positions are within internal as well as Qatar Central Bank guidelines.

Monitor and analyze the market, enabling to trade profitable positions and provide recommendations to the Section Head - FX of possible opportunities in the market.

Ensure accurate reporting of P&L figures for FX trading activities and revalue outstanding positions to Section Head on a periodic basis.

Review and ensure daily generation of rate sheets for internal and external clients (if applicable), in compliance with internal reporting requirements in set formats.

Perform regular and / or periodic monitoring of FX deal portfolios / trades conducted through different platforms and cost-benefit analysis of pre and post deal transactions, furthering to achieve profitability / P&L targets.

Promptly respond to and / or escalation significant deal transactions related issues / concerns raised by internal / external stakeholders.

Ensure maintenance of the list of approved FX currencies and recommend the addition or deletion of permissible FX currencies based on market developments.

Ensure covering of the G10 currencies, in line with the net open position, branch reporting and treasury sales reporting.

Manage margin trading for clients, including but not limited to provision of quotations, trade contract / execution, deal confirmation and ensure related customer queries are resolved thereto.

Support in identifying and analyzing trade opportunities in terms of G10 currencies for strategic deals through technical and fundamental analysis. Contribute to the formulation and implementation of appropriate trading strategy to ensure that estimated currency positions are in line with the internal policies and strategies.

Monitor and ascertain the stock of gold and cash and import the same to replenish the stock, as per the requirements raised by treasury sales and cash vault.

Analyze and report on daily and weekly USD sales, enabling to monitor, ensure and maintain the currency position within stipulated NOP limits.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

University graduate with a degree in Business or Banking or Finance or Economics or any other related discipline.

Master’s degree in management any other related discipline will be an added advantage.

08-12 years of total experience in financial services / banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline.

Experience in FX trading activities.
