Senior Solution & Integration Architect
About the Role
Client Enterprise Architecture is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solution & Integration Architect to design, govern, and evolve the enterprise integration and application landscape. This role bridges solution architecture and integration architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise business objectives, EA principles, and Client's digital transformation and IT modernization agenda. The position demands strong expertise in API-first, event-driven, and cloud-native integration approaches, as well as hands-on leadership across IT application ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Integration Strategy & Roadmap Development
Define and lead the enterprise integration strategy, aligned with Client's digital and EA objectives & roadmap.
Assess current integration landscape (if required) using frameworks such as OSIMM and Gartners capability models.
Publish maturity assessments, gap analyses, and multi-year / phased integration transformation roadmaps.
Drive planning, designing, road mapping, and implementation of migration of integration solutions and projects.
Develop and maintain integration reference architectures for cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments.
Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies such as iPaaS, API marketplaces, Hybrid Integration Platform (HIP) understanding AI / ML-enabled integrations.
2. Architecture & Solution Design
Architect end-to-end integrations across enterprise applications, on-prem, cloud (GCP, Azure, OCI etc.), and hybrid environments., and external ecosystems.
Implement API Management platforms (IBM APIC, GCP Apigee, MuleSoft, Azure API Management etc.) and establish developer portals.
Develop reference architectures and reusable design patterns for APIs, microservices, and event-driven platforms.
Enable real-time data exchange and streaming via Kafka, GCP Pub / Sub, Application integration and Azure Event Hub etc.
Govern integration delivery to ensure reliability, resilience and scalability.
Expertise on planning, designing , road mapping & implementation on migration of integration solutions & projects.
Lead the design and implementation of integration platforms including :
GCP Integration Services (Apigee X, Cloud Run, Eventarc, Cloud Functions, Data Fusion, Dataflow etc.)
IBM CP4I (ACE, MQ, APIC, Data Power etc.)
Azure Integration Services (API Management, Event Grid, Logic Apps)
Possesses deep, end-to-end expertise in software engineering, solution architecture, and security capable of designing and implementing robust, multi-cloud, enterprise solutions that balance user experience, performance, resilience, reliability, and security across multi-channel platforms and diverse UI / UX paradigms.
3. Governance & Standards
Define and institutionalize integration and application architecture patterns, technical standards, and reusable solution frameworks to ensure consistency, scalability, and alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
Ensure security, compliance, and observability across all integrations & non-integration solutions (OAuth2.0, JWT, SAML, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
Establish monitoring, logging, and performance frameworks for mission-critical integrations.
Assisting in EA governance, Assess or evaluate using governance models including architecture gate reviews, BRD, SOW, HLD etc. compliance checks, and lifecycle controls.
4. Vendor Engagement & Technology Evaluation
Engage with strategic vendors for solution design, remediation, and delivery assurance.
Lead PoCs and pilots for iPaaS, API Gateways, and event platforms. Define use-cases, success criteria, evaluate outcomes, and publish advisory reports.
Participate in RFP processes, technical evaluation panels etc.
5. Leadership & Collaboration
Partner with enterprise architects, domain architects, engineering leaders and delivery leads to ensure architecture cohesion and enterprise strategy.
Mentor cross-functional development teams in the design and delivery of both integration and non-integration solutions, emphasizing reusability, cost optimization, API-first principles, event-driven architecture, and DevOps best practices to enable scalable, maintainable, and value-driven integration & non-integration capabilities.
Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on integrations role in enabling digital agility.
Required Skills & Experience :
10+ years of IT experience, with a strong specialization in enterprise integration and solution architecture across complex, large-scale environments.
Proven expertise in designing and implementing API-first and event-driven integration across cloud-native, hybrid, and on-premise ecosystems.
Hands-on experience with end-to-end integration lifecycle including planning, design, development, deployment, governance, and migration of integration solutions and projects.
Extensive knowledge of integration platforms such as GCP Integration Services (Apigee X, Pub / Sub, Cloud Run, Eventarc, Cloud Functions, Data Fusion, Dataflow, Stackdriver), IBM CP4I (ACE, MQ, APIC), and Azure Integration Services (API Management, Logic Apps, Event Grid) etc..
Strong hands-on background with ESB, iPaaS, and middleware platforms and tools, including experience building integration solutions using Google Application Integration or equivalent stacks.
Proficiency in microservices architecture, API lifecycle management, event-driven models, and cloud-native service design.
Strong development experience with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes, along with working knowledge of DevOps, CI / CD pipelines, and automation tooling for integration delivery.
Experience in real-time data streaming platforms such as Kafka, Confluent, GCP Pub / Sub, or Azure Event Hub, and their integration with modern data platforms.
Strong understanding of security frameworks and protocols such as OAuth2.0, JWT, SAML, with practical experience ensuring compliance with regulatory standards including GDPR, PCI-DSS, OWASP, and NIST etc.
Deep knowledge of logging, monitoring, observability, and SLA enforcement using tools such as Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging (Stackdriver), and equivalent platforms.
Solid experience in designing full-stack, multi-channel digital solutions (web, mobile, desktop, kiosk) that ensure balance between user experience, performance, resilience, reliability, and security.
Proven ability to integrate applications into broader ecosystems using technologies such as APIs, message brokers, event-streams, microservices, and cloud-native services.
Strong background in software engineering, architecture, and security, including application security (OWASP Top 10), infrastructure security, and encryption practices.
Preferred knowledge or experience with enterprise architecture and data modeling tools and alignment with EA frameworks such as TOGAF etc.
Experience working across cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, OCI, and OpenShift.
Provides technical leadership and architecture guidance to diverse stakeholders, translating cross-functional requirements into tailored, scalable solutions.
Experienced in mentoring development teams in reusable solution design, cost-optimized architecture, API-first thinking, event-driven integration, and DevSecOps adoption.
Collaborates effectively with business analysts, product owners, developers, and vendors to transform requirements into viable solution architectures.
Ensures architectural decisions and designs align with enterprise principles, digital strategies, and operational priorities.
Leads and coordinates high-level and low-level solution design with internal IT teams and external vendors.
Actively contributes to architecture governance forums, design reviews, and vendor technical evaluations.
Defines and enforces non-functional requirements (e.g., scalability, availability, security, observability).
Participates in RFP processes, vendor selection, and architecture due diligence.
Ensures ongoing compliance with enterprise architecture standards, data governance policies, and security frameworks.
Supports the development of architectural reference models, technical roadmaps, and domain-specific principles.
conducts impact assessments, technical risk reviews, and supports decision-making on complex architectural issues.
Engages in cross-functional design reviews and enterprise architecture communities of practice.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
Preferred knowledge includes TOGAF, Google Professional Cloud Architect, IBM Integration Architect, Microsoft Azure Architect, or equivalent practices.
