Production Technical Manager – Ceremonies & Infotainment
The Production Technical Manager acts as the key liaison for all technical requirements between the agency and Local Organizing Committee teams. This role is responsible for managing, coordinating, and facilitating the technical needs of ceremonies‑related activities, ensuring seamless integration between creative direction and technical execution for the upcoming tournaments. The manager will work closely with internal LOC teams, vendors, and venue personnel to ensure all sound, lighting, video, power, staging, and special effects needs are clearly communicated, accurately delivered, and effectively supported throughout all phases of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical point of contact representing the LOC in all ceremonies‑related discussions with event management companies (EMC), vendors, and technical crews.
- Review and provide feedback on technical proposals from the EMC.
- Translate creative and production requirements into clear technical briefs and specifications.
- Coordinate planning, delivery, and installation of all technical elements (audio, lighting, video, power, staging, rigging, special effects, comms system, etc.).
- Facilitate technical site visits, walkthroughs, and planning meetings.
- Support development of ceremonies and infotainment specific technical documentation such as equipment lists, layouts, cue sheets, and production schedules.
- Oversee and monitor progress of technical deliverables, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Contribute to LOC site operational planning, developing policies and procedures on technical matters related to ceremonies and infotainment deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with venue policies, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide real‑time solutions during rehearsals and live operations.
- Track and manage changes to technical requirements throughout the production lifecycle together with the EMC.
Qualifications
Experience in live event technical management, ideally with exposure to large‑scale ceremonies or complex productions.Strong understanding of event production systems (lighting, audio, video, staging, rigging, comms, and show control).Proven ability to interpret technical plans and communicate effectively across creative and technical teams.Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.Familiarity with event production documentation and workflows.Comfortable working in high‑pressure environments with tight deadlines.Proficiency with technical drawing and planning tools (e.g., Vectorworks, AutoCAD, or similar) is a plus.Flexible schedule, including availability during evenings, weekends, and event periods.Work Location
On‑site role requiring presence during all key rehearsals, bump‑in / out periods, and live matchdays.Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.Possible travel to other venues for cross‑site coordination or alignment.Senior Level
