High School English Teacher

Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Teacher on behalf of our client a prestigious international school located in Doha Qatar. This is a full-time position offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator to inspire and motivate students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of the English curriculum and a commitment to fostering a love for literature and language among secondary school students. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching that encourages intellectual curiosity and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities

Plan prepare and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons that are aligned with the curriculum standards.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and promotes a high standard of behaviour.
Assess record and report on the development progress and attainment of students providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
Develop and adapt teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
Prepare students for internal and external examinations ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.
Communicate effectively with parents colleagues and senior leadership regarding student progress and well-being.
Participate in departmental meetings parent-teacher evenings and whole-school training events.
Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities.

Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelors degree in English Education or a closely related field.
A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE QTS or equivalent).
Proven experience teaching English to high school or secondary school students (Years 7-13).
Experience with the British National Curriculum IGCSE or A-Level programmes is highly desirable.
Exceptional classroom management skills and the ability to create an effective learning environment.
Excellent command of the English language both spoken and written.
Strong organisational communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to student development.
